Unfinished business are the upcoming indie band. They have come out of nowhere and are no on a very high rise to the top. The boys agreed to meet with me for the day and I got to see what they got up to with their free time and all of their new found fortune.
Joe (vocals), James (guitar) and Tom (drums) found fame after covering a version of Arctic Monkeys’ “when the sun goes down”, which climbed into the top 20 singles.
Tom says “for our debut single, we were over the moon to reach 17th in the chart. We feel as though our own singles can make it even higher. We’re really pleased with the music we’ve made and we look forward to finding out what the public think of it.” I lucky enough to hear the boys play a couple of songs off their self titled album, Sadly, I have to keep it confidential, but I will say I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised by what you hear off of this album.
Joe has spent lots of time writing new songs for the album. “It took me lots of hard work creating songs for this album. Some days I’d sit and be able to write 2 or 3 songs easily, other days my mind would completely blank. The days when I struggled for inspiration, we’d have a couple of games of fifa, it gives us time to relax, so when we go back to the table we are normally able to get some ideas down.” After a couple of hours of being with the boys, I realised that fifa was more than just a pass time. They are very competitive when it comes to gaming, Joe told us that he was the best out of the three, obviously they all disagreed, so we ended up playing Playstation 3 to determine the best.
After about 3 hours of constant playing, they decided it was time they would talk to me. I asked the lads how they were intending on spending all of their new fortune. Tom said “well we’re all almost 17, so we’re going to use some of the money to learn to drive and buy cars. The rest of the money will probably be wasted on gadgets and clothes and stuff.”
